Information

Welcome to Cedar Swamp, a family orientated silver persian breeding program that began in 1982. We strive first and foremost for temperament, that of the intelligent companion that wants to love and be loved. Health is an equal priority with all veterinary care, vaccinations, genetic testing and cattery inspections done as required. All of our cats are DNA tested negative at the University of California Davis.
Cedar Swamp kittens and cats are:
  • well socialized and family raised
  • come with the best, most complete written health guarantee
  • microchiped for permanent individual identification
  • veterinary inspected and vaccinated, FIV & FELV negative
  • vaccinated with "Pure Vax " vaccines for reduced vaccine injection site reactions
  • regularly recommended by veterinary clinics
  • known for superior, friendly dispositions
  • come with a genetic health guarantee
  • properly grooming trained prior to placement
  • accompanied with complete verbal and written instructions on care and grooming
  • raised with emphasis on the intelligent companion and 'lap' cat temperaments
  • born into a home where health and personality are considered equally important to good looks
  • accompanied with 'after sale' follow-up and counselling/advice

The family atmosphere, along with selective genetics, have contributed towards the superior temperments, health and accomplishments of our cats and kittens over the years.

Due to family obligations to financially support post secondary education for our three children, Cedar Swamp does not currently exhibit at cat shows .
However, we are committed to this breed for a lifetime, and will be back to this portion
of our program as soon as we are able!

Mrs Wilma Lagerwerf is proud to have become involved with and contribute to the distribution of knowledge of Polycystic Kidney Disease; to be a member of the CFA Silver and Golden Persian breed council, the Canadian Cat Association Persian Breed Council, Cornell Feline Health Center member and regular writer/contributer to the Cat Fancier Association Health committee.
